General Description: Richmond Community College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Residency Instructor to support candidates enrolled in the Residency Licensure Certificate Program. This position is designed for experienced educators who are passionate about developing beginning teachers while they are actively teaching in K-12 classrooms. The Adjunct Instructor will provide instruction, coaching, and ongoing support to ensure candidates successfully meet licensure requirements and develop effective teaching practices.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
  1. Facilitate online coursework aligned with North Carolina licensure standards and program outcomes
  2. Provide timely, constructive feedback on assignments, including edTPA-aligned tasks and key assessments
  3. Support candidates in developing standards-based lesson plans aligned with the NC Standard Course of Study (NCSCOS)
  4. Conduct classroom observations (in-person and/or virtual) and provide individualized coaching and support
  5. Maintain regular communication with candidates through platforms such as Moodle, email, and Remind
  6. Monitor candidate progress and provide intervention strategies as needed
  7. Collaborate with school administrators, mentor teachers, and district partners to support candidate success
  8. Ensure candidates meet program requirements, including completion of required coursework and assessments
  9. Model effective instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, and reflective teaching practices
  10. Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. Strong understanding of instructional best practices, classroom management, and student engagement
  2. Familiarity with edTPA or similar teacher performance assessments
  3. Experience with online learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas)
  4. Experience mentoring, coaching, or supervising beginning teachers
  5. Experience conducting classroom observations and providing actionable feedback

Minimum Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  2. Completed 18 credit hours of graduate level coursework in High School Math, Special Education, and/or Birth-Kindergarten

Salary Grade: Compensation is based on Richmond Community College's adjunct faculty pay scale
