Fourth Grade Math & Science Teacher


Join the Walker Wildcat Team in Broward County Florida.


Walker Elementary School of Visual and Performing Arts is seeking a passionate, hardworking, and dedicated 4th Grade Math & Science Teacher to join our instructional team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This is a departmentalized teaching position. The selected teacher will provide math and science instruction to two fourth-grade classes, with primary responsibility for delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction based on Florida's B.E.S.T. Standards for Mathematics and the fourth-grade science standards.

We are looking for an educator who loves teaching mathematics and science, holds high expectations for students, and believes that every child can achieve at high levels with the right instruction and support.


What You'll Do

·      Deliver engaging, standards-aligned fourth-grade mathematics and science instruction

·      Use student assessment data to identify strengths, learning gaps, and next instructional steps

·      Provide differentiated instruction, including purposeful small-group instruction

·      Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on student needs

·      Collaborate closely with grade-level teammates, instructional coaches, and school administrators

·      Create a positive, structured classroom environment where students are challenged, supported, and empowered to take ownership of their learning

·      Participate in collaborative planning, professional learning, and schoolwide instructional initiatives

Teachers at Walker are not expected to do this work alone. Our teachers receive common collaborative planning at least twice each week, access to instructional coaches and administrators, professional development throughout the year, opportunities to analyze student data collaboratively, and ongoing support with curriculum, standards, instructional planning, and small-group instruction.
