Job description

Position Purpose:

We are seeking a Test Engineer to support quality assurance efforts across data pipelines, reports, and dashboards by validating functionality, ensuring data accuracy, user experience, and verifying compliance with technical and business requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining system integrity and enabling reliable, user-centered application delivery in a collaborative Agile environment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist with writing and executing test cases for data validation, file processing, and dashboard rendering.
  • Perform smoke tests, regression tests, and accessibility (508) checks across multiple environments (DEV, VAL, PROD).
  • Document defects, test results, and deployment readiness in Jira and Confluence.
  • Support integration and end-to-end testing of microservices and AWS-based data workflows.
  • Learn to write and maintain automated test scripts using Python or Pytest.
  • Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and product owners to understand business logic and validation rules.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, IT, health informatics, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience in quality assurance, software testing, or technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools such as Pytest, Selenium, or Postman.
  • Basic proficiency in Python scripting for test development and validation tasks.
  • Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git) and working within CI/CD environments.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to write and follow test plans, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Comfort working in Agile teams and using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience testing reporting platforms, dashboards, or data pipelines in healthcare, government, or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with accessibility and compliance testing, including Section 508 standards.
  • Exposure to system security documentation or control assessments (e.g., ATO, audit prep, risk registers).
  • Understanding of quality control plans (QCPs), defect lifecycle management, and Agile reporting tools such as Jira.
  • Experience supporting testing for large-scale data validation, document submission, or cloud migration efforts.
  • Relevant Testing, Agile, and/or AWS certifications preferred
