What You Will Learn:

As a strategic thinker with a passion for the beauty industry and a desire to drive category growth, you will master the development and execution of our skincare category strategy across Walmart’s rapidly evolving omni-channel ecosystem. This role will empower you to leverage advanced shopper understanding, Walmart Data Ventures/Scintilla analysis, and omni-channel expertise to accelerate the growth of our powerhouse derm portfolio. You will operate as a collaborative team member with a deep understanding of the retail landscape, gaining invaluable experience in identifying and capitalizing on emerging digital, AI, and rapid-delivery trends.

Position Overview:

As the Customer Development Manager for Walmart within L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty (LDB), you will serve as both the commercial account strategist and the advanced data catalyst driving our business within Walmart’s rapidly evolving digital and physical ecosystem. You will leverage Walmart Scintilla, Data Ventures platform, and Retail Link to unlock omnichannel, insights, translating first-party data into future-forward growth strategies for our powerhouse derm brands (CeraVe, La Roche-Posay).

Key Responsibilities:Strategic Account Management
  • Analyze and define growth levers relevant to Walmart with a specific focus on the shopper, ensuring selling is driven by robust shopper insights.
  • Own direct account management responsibilities for smaller and emerging growth categories (e.g., First Aid, Baby), driving their specific commercial strategy and retail performance.
  • Provide managerial support on customer management functions inclusive of Joint Business Planning (JBP), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Line Reviews and various other strategic workstreams (Health & Wellness, Beauty Elevation, Anti-Theft etc.).
  • Act as the internal power user for Walmart Data Ventures Scintilla platform, extracting granular first-party omnichannel data (basket affinity, loyalty, lifetime value) to shape commercial strategy.
  • Create the online vision for LDB brands, aligning with Walmart's rapidly evolving ecosystem (Omnichannel/Digital, AI Optimization, and Rapid Delivery).
  • Collaborate with e-retail and consumer experience teams to execute plans and create a seamless Online-Plus-Offline (O+O) experience.
Reporting & Operational Execution
  • Deliver comprehensive commentary to supplement weekly performance reporting, tracking key business drivers, shipments, retail sales, and events.
  • Lead end-to-end Line Review Preparation, partnering with cross-functional teams to build data-backed sales presentations and strategic proposals.
  • Drive Category Insights & Analysis: Serve as the resident expert on category analysis for your brands, competitive brands, and the overall skincare/emerging categories. Develop opportunities from top-door analysis, new item/hero item evaluation, and weekly inventory reviews.
  • Manage Item Set Up & Maintenance, ensuring flawless execution of data integrity across retail systems.
  • Coordinate Mod Room execution and Sample management, ensuring physical and digital presentations meet retailer standards.
  • Oversee planning and execution for retail Displays.
Main Interfaces
  • Commercial VP / Account Directors / Business Analyst
  • Internal Sales Support Teams (Trade, Analytics, Customer Marketing, Category Development, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.)
  • Assigned retailer touchpoints across various business units within Walmart.
Measures of Success
  • Commercial & Category Growth: Successful delivery of sales targets, distribution points, ROI, and profitable growth across core skincare and emerging categories (e.g., First Aid, Baby).
  • Data Ventures & Omnichannel Mastery: Effective utilization and translation of Walmart Data Ventures and Scintilla platforms into winning Joint Business Planning (JBP) strategies, driving e-share expansion, digital shelf optimization, and rapid-delivery metrics.
  • Strategic Partnership & Alignment: Positive retailer scorecards and strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and Walmart buying teams.
  • Operational & Execution Rigor: Effective weekly reporting commentary, timely item set-up & maintenance, display planning, and mod room/line review preparation.
  • Team & Collaborative Impact: Active cross-functional leadership, ongoing support and development of junior team members, and positive Team 360 feedback.
What We Are Looking For:

A results-oriented individual who can translate market and shopper insights into actionable strategies, contributing to profitable growth for the LDB Walmart business. You will possess a solid understanding of commercial principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience: 4-5+ years of relevant commercial, sales, or advanced analytical experience in CPG, with direct experience managing the Walmart account.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven mastery of Walmart Data Ventures, Scintilla, and Retail Link (DSS/IDW). Experience with syndicated data (Circana/IRI) is a strong plus.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel & PowerPoint. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret large sets of retail data into compelling business narratives.
  • Ecosystem Acumen: Deep knowledge of retailer strategies, digital shelf dynamics, omnichannel retail levers, and competitor landscapes.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
