Stipend: $900 per student
An OWL teacher works 1:1 with a student and is responsible for providing the following course to their student. This position can be done remotely. It is, in large part, flexible and asynchronous. It is possible for a full-time teacher to take on this position as an additional job.
  • The course will immerse students in Spanish language and culture. Teacher will design activities to provide students with maximum opportunities to use their Spanish language.
  • At the outset of the year-long course, the teacher will assess each student's proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening based on an online assessment, the products and assessment of their most recent language course work, interviews with the students or parent, or a combination of these sources.
  • The teacher will also set two weekly online meeting times for interaction with all of the students on that teacher's roster. Each student will attend one meeting per week as a course requirement and may opt to attend both meetings. Active participation in synchronous class meetings is required.
