Job description

Environmental Technician 

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental Technician for our Midwest team.  

This highly motivated, detail-oriented, customer service-focused individual will be responsible for working on site for the client by helping them manage their hazardous waste programs.

Triumvirate Environmental provides leading organizations in the higher education, life sciences, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing sectors with diverse services and expertise to assist them with compliance management. This position reports to the Operations Coordinator. This role is onsite at a client and is based in Kansas City, MO.

Responsibilities: 

  • Technical: 
    • Maintain good attendance and punctuality. 
    • Developing a strong working knowledge of computer software programs that support the operation. 
    • AssistProgram Manageras requested. 
  • Hands-on: 
    • Handle chemicals and hazardous waste in small and large containers. 
    • Utilization of a material shredder. 
    • Willingness to wear a respirator for 2 to 6 hours per day. 
  • Customer Service: 
    • Provide clients with high-quality and professional customer service. 
    • Positive attitude, high energy, and good communication skills. 
    • Rotating on-call responsibilities as part of our Emergency Response team (optional).   

Basic Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record. 
  • Basic knowledge of, or interest in, the hazardous waste field. 
  • 1+ years of customer service experience. 
  • Self-motivated person with the desire to learn. 
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship. 
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation. 
  • Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC). 
  • Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program. (inclusive of THC) as part of our company's commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. 
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis. 
  • Ability to work overtime on when needed.
  • The Environmental Technician frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitive. 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Prior relevant industry experience 
  • Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification
  • Forklift Experience
