Position Description
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington invites applications for a part-time (up to 10% FTE) clinical faculty member at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a part-time basis for a twelve-month appointment beginning Summer 2026. Clinical faculty hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms.
The base salary range for these positions will be as follows below, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
  • The base salary range for a Clinical Assistant Professor position will be $210,000 - $265,008 annually ($17,500 - $22,084 per month)
  • The base salary range for a Clinical Associate Professor position will be $238,008 - $280,008 annually ($19,834 - $23,334 per month)
  • The base salary range for a Clinical Professor position will be $250,008 - $315,000 annually ($20,834 - $26,250 per month)

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following clinical duties and responsibilities:
  • Provides weekend and holiday call coverage for Seattle Children's as the sole responsibility of this FTE, averaging about 12 weekends over one year
  • Provide teaching and mentorship to trainees (students, fellows, junior faculty) as appropriate and in conjunction with your clinical activities.
  • You may have other responsibilities as assigned by the Chair or Service Chief by mutual agreement.

All University of Washington faculty are expected to engage in teaching, research, and service.

Seattle Children's Hospital (SCH) is a large tertiary medical center affiliated with the University of Washington School of Medicine and serving a four-state area. Seattle Children's provides a wide continuum of programming for children in the Pacific Northwest that address community-based care and prevention. Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Health is a focus program at SCH and receives extraordinary support for its important role in the Northwest.

Our educational programs include a required medical student clerkship for 260 medical students per year at some 30 sites across the WWAMI region, a nationally competitive psychiatry residency program with more than 90 psychiatry residents in Seattle and in two regional residency tracks in Idaho and Montana, subspecialty fellowships in addiction, child and adolescent, consultation-liaison, perinatal mental health and geriatric psychiatry, a nationally renowned scientist-practitioner psychology internship program, and numerous post-doctoral clinical and research fellowships.

  • An M.D. or D.O. or foreign equivalent,
  • Current medical licensure,
  • Current Washington State medical license
