Job description


Adult Basic Ed Literacy Assistant - Data Support
Location:  Adult Education Center - Columbia Heights/Fridley, 4111 Central Ave NE, Columbia Heights
Part-Time  12 months/ 133 days / 8 hrs day
Schedule:  MONDAY - WEDNESDAY  (Mon and Wed split shifts AM and PM)  
Duties:  Conduct ESL intake registration/placement and progress testing (in person and online) for incoming multilingual adult learners of English. Assist in orienting students to distance learning platforms and supporting students' use of the programs. Communicate with staff, work closely with teachers and intake/assessment staff. Assist with administering the standardized tests of CASAS, BEST PLUS, and TABE.  Training will be provided.  Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:  High school diploma or equivalent.  Strong communication and organizational skills.  Ability to be flexible and function well in an environment that is busy and features an ethnically and culturally diverse population. 
Preferred Qualifications:  Bachelors degree preferred.  Experience with ESL learners preferred.  Experience working with adults in an ABE/ESL academic program preferred.  High comfort level in using technology (including excel/google sheets) preferred.  Bilingual skills a plus.
Rate of pay:  $17.17/hr to $23.72/hr
