NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, and technical support to the Environmental Protection Agency through the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year(s) of experience in Office/administrative - preference may be given to prior experience in environmental programs either in private or public sectors OR AA Degree in Any - with preference to science, environmental/natural science, or business OR Previously completed training in Use of computer, web-based database experience preferred

Duties:

The role(s) would be assisting with day to day administrative operations and modernization initiatives to improve processes and systems related to State Revolving Fund (SRF) clean water programs in the State of Iowa. Duties generally consist of activities that include responding, monitoring, tracking, organizing, developing, compiling, arranging, following up on, coordinating and reporting.

  • Clean Water Data Verification & Clean Up - The SRF program is moving to an online system. Prior to moving, historical environmental data needs to be coordinated for standardization and quality assurance and monitored for the new system.   30%
  • Clean Water SRF Project Close Out Backlog - Systematically compile and arrange the environmental clearance technical materials backlog of the past SRF projects that have been closed out and digitally stored in the state's records repository.   30%
  • Clean Water System Development Assistance -The SRF program is moving from a manual system of PDF attachments and excel spreadsheets to an online, automated system for customers and staff. Assistance in developing and testing an environmental program system and ongoing troubleshooting.   20%
  • Various support functions including but not limited to data gathering, data entry to databases, GIS map creation, records filing, etc.   10%
  • Other Assistance - Items related to responding, follow up, and reporting along with general program correspondence, response to inquiries, internal and external coordination, assist program/staff with process improvements, development of SOPs/manuals, incoming and outgoing mail, and staff/stakeholder training; compilation and retention of SRF Program Records.   10%
