Job description

The Department of Math, Analytics, and Technology in the College of Business and Technology at Rockhurst University invites applications for a full-time Program Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor of Information Systems. This unique position combines teaching and leadership responsibilities in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will help shape the future of our graduate and undergraduate technology programs through innovative instruction, strategic program development, and industry engagement.
Position Overview
This role involves a dual appointment:
- Teaching: Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in information systems and related subjects using lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and other appropriate modes of educational delivery.
- Program Coordination: The Program Coordinator will support the academic development of the Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) program, with collaborative involvement in related programs such as the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. While the Technology Program Director oversees administrative functions-including university partnerships and strategic alignment-the Program Coordinator will focus on subject matter leadership, including curriculum development, student recruitment, academic advising, and industry engagement. This role reports directly to the Technology Program Director and works closely with faculty and staff to ensure that program content remains current, relevant, and aligned with college goals and industry needs.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Master's degree in information systems, computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related discipline (required).
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in IT, cybersecurity, software engineering, or related fields.
- Proven track record in senior IT leadership roles (e.g., CIO, CTO, CISO, Director of Technology, IT Operations, Enterprise Architecture).
Technical Expertise
- Familiarity with modern enterprise and emerging technologies, including cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), cybersecurity tools and frameworks, and software development practices (e.g., Python, Git, DevOps).
- Ability to translate industry trends into educational experiences.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Experience building relationships with external partners, advisory boards, or professional associations.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities with a proactive approach to problem-solving and program development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
Teaching & Scholarship
- Prior teaching experience in higher education (preferred).
- Evidence of scholarly and creative ability.
- Commitment to service, teaching, and the technology industry.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional and confidential manner.

Additional Information
