Working Hours and/or Working Conditions: HOURS: Hours will be M-Sat (To be determined by department. Macomb Community College offers daytime, evening, and Saturday classes).WORKING CONDITIONS: Courses include on campus, online, remote, hybrid, and/or flexible learning. Dependent on needs of the department.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Valid Microsoft Office certification or extensive experience with intermediate level Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) features; 2 years industry work experience using computer software, hardware, and/or the internet.
Supervision: SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Associate Dean, takes direction from department administration.SUPERVISION GIVEN: May give direction to part-time lab staff as assigned.
Job Function
Macomb Community College Adjunct Faculty demonstrate deep subject matter knowledge and provide effective instruction to students using various modalities including, but not limited to, on campus, online, remote, hybrid, and flexible learning. Adjunct Faculty are responsive to their students and support their success through timely communication, feedback, and assessment of student learning.
Job Responsibilities
• Teach ITCS-1010 - Computer and Information Processing Principles, as assigned by the department.
• Maintain course materials in the College's Learning Management System (LMS), including, but not limited to, announcement, syllabus, and gradebook.
• Keep gradebook up to date and submit final grades by published deadlines.
• Participate and actively cooperate with the department and Learning Unit to meet accreditation standards.
• Assist in facilitating student clinical and or lab experiences as assigned.
• Participate in course assessments that will accurately measure achievement of student learning outcomes as assigned.
• Complete training for various instructional delivery modalities as required.
• Maintain faculty credentials as required by the College's accrediting agencies.
• Attend Faculty Development Days and/or Institutional Development Days as schedule permits.
• Participate in Learning Unit committees as schedule permits.
• Other duties as assigned in compliance with the AAFMCC collective bargaining agreement.
Education
Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, or related field with at least two (2) years of full-time, non-teaching work experience in a relevant field; or an Associate's degree in business administration, information technology, or related field with at least five (5) years of full-time, non-teaching work experience in a relevant field and an industry recognized credential.
This position is not eligible for benefits.
