Mainframe Computer Operator
Required Experience:
Candidate must have substantive hands-on experience in a mainframe data center environment with all three of the following:
  • High-speed laser printers
  • Impact printers
  • Burster equipment
Required Technical/Operational Experience:
Candidate should demonstrate experience with the applicable GPO duties:
  • Operating high-speed laser printers, impact printers, and bursters.
  • Setting up and operating printers in response to mainframe console instructions.
  • Loading paper, toner, developer, forms, and related supplies.
  • Removing and organizing completed print jobs for customer distribution.
  • Monitoring equipment and reporting or coordinating resolution of printer/system malfunctions.
  • Job submission, scheduling, monitoring, and tracking using JCL within TSO.
  • Experience working in TSO/ISPF environments.
  • Supporting Production Control and report-distribution activities.
  • Handling paper/forms and maintaining the printer-production work area.
Schedule: One Operator assigned with the Lead on each shift:
  • Shift 1: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
  • Shift 2: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, Monday–Friday
