POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
June 25,2026

POSITION: Nursing Instructor
LOCATION: Commodore Conyers College and Career Academy
  QUALIFICATIONS:




  1. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required); Master's Degree (preferred).
  2. Current Georgia RN License in good standing.
  3. Three (3) years of work experience as a nurse within the past seven (7) years.
  4. Minimum of two years clinical experience in the past five (5) years.
  5. Excellent communication skills.
  6. Basic level of computer skills.
  7. One (1) year of classroom teaching experience in an educational environment (preferred).
  8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.


   PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Performs all aspects of instruction for high school and technical programs of study; delivers effective instruction; ensures adherence to high school and college requirements in classrooms; ensures that labs are following established procedures; correct assessment of educational needs and class progress of students; selects and obtains appropriate educational materials for courses; prepares and reports student status in the program; meets all program goals and schedules; serves as a mentor to students; develops adequate lesson plans; and maintains knowledge of computer technology.
  2. Develops course outlines, goals and objectives; prepares appropriate curricula; attends committee meetings relating to curriculum development, extracurricular activities and other sponsored activities or programs as required; and prepares instructional reports for submission to principal.
  3. Evaluates student's progress in attaining goals and objectives; establishes testing procedures to measure student's progress; and communicates student's progress to appropriate personnel, while accurately keeping records of student's information.
  4. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment; prepares required budget requests; performs and maintains classroom inventory; and follows equipment procedures.
  5. Maintains program certification requirements; prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports; prepares and submits student's progress; analyzes collected data for improvement of student learning outcomes; and submits reports in a timely manner.
  6. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending required staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
  7. Develops and meets with staff and students and other educators to discuss students, instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of students; and advises students on course selection and other pertinent matters in a professional and effective manner.
  8. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to both students and the work; operates effectively within the organization; demonstrates appropriate trustworthiness and responsible behavior; and leads the students in a professional manner.
  9. Maintains appropriate and effective classroom management.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.


REPORTS TO:  Principal
SALARY RANGE: Ten-Month Contract - Competitive salary and excellent benefits package in accordance with the DCSS Compensation Guide.
