Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Under supervision, provide behavioral health screening of detainees referred by facility staff or identified by prescreening through booking process or nursing services.
  • Under supervision, provide individual and/or group psychoeducation and skills-based interventions.
  • Assist custody and medical staff in the monitoring of behavioral health for referred detainees.
  • Coordinate with custody and medical staff in the management and treatment of detainees with behavioral health concerns.
  • Monitor and assess therapeutic support of segregated and isolated detainees.
  • Support and supplement the activities of county behavioral health services in the stabilization of at-risk detainees.
  • Coordinate with county behavioral health services for continuity of care and discharge planning/case management via sharing of pertinent patient information.
  • Complete documentation as well as maintain records for referral tracking and continuous quality improvement (CQI) under supervision.
  • Demonstrate commitment and dedication to providing behavioral health support and provide training to solve problems and make lives easier.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Master's Degree in a Behavioral/Social Science field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, etc.) required.
  • Current licensure with clinical specialty from the appropriate state licensing board preferred.
  • CPR certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained while in this role.
  • Hands-on or online certifications are accepted.
  • Must be able to practice independently.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
