Job Title: Mathnasium Lead Instructor

Position Summary: The Mathnasium Lead Instructor is responsible for leading the instructional floor, directing Instructors to ensure all students receive appropriate attention, coaching Instructors on how to improve their instructional abilities and their use of the Mathnasium method, as well as, provide exceptional instruction to students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Leadership: Direct the instructional floor, ensuring proper student-to-instructor ratios and high-quality, personalized instruction.
  • Coaching & Mentoring: Train and mentor new instructors on teaching methods, student engagement, and behavior management.
  • Student Instruction: Deliver expert instruction (in-center or online) using the proprietary Mathnasium Method, focusing on building conceptual understanding and confidence.
  • Administrative Duties: Create and maintain student learning plans, prepare binders, and other admin tasks as needed or directed by the center directors.
  • Environment Management: Ensure the center is clean, safe, and professional.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach/tutor in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices
  • Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, and build confidence in students.
  • Monitor student behavior and intervene when appropriate to address any behavioral concerns or redirect attention back to course work
  • Lead, coach, and work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
  • Communicate student progress with parents and guardians
  • Support the maintenance of a safe and professional learning environment
  • Assist in non-teaching tasks, which may include cleaning, administrative assistance, curriculum preparation, or other duties as assigned
  • When appropriate, escort a student to their parent when the session expires.

Qualifications:

  • College-level math candidates preferred.
  • Exceptional math skills through Algebra I and Geometry is a must
  • Passion for math and working with students and young kids
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Eagerness to learn and be trained
  • Ability to balance leadership and instructional responsibilities
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience is preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule: 4 hour shift • Sunday to Thursday•  Year round work and weekends for any events

Work setting: In-person

Expected hours: 4 - 20 hours per week

All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
