Live Commerce Sales Host – Whatnot
CRL Liquidation is looking for an energetic, confident, and sales-driven Live Commerce Sales Host to join our growing Whatnot operation.
This is not a traditional retail sales position. You will host live online selling shows, present merchandise to customers across the country, interact with a live audience, and ultimately be responsible for driving sales and creating an entertaining shopping experience.
This is a performance-based position. We’re looking for someone who is competitive, personable, comfortable on camera, and motivated by results.
What You’ll Do
As a Live Commerce Sales Host, you’ll be the face and personality behind our live Whatnot shows.
Responsibilities include:
  • Host live sales shows on Whatnot
  • Present, demonstrate, and sell a wide variety of consumer products
  • Clearly and accurately describe merchandise, features, condition, and value
  • Engage with customers and viewers throughout live broadcasts
  • Build excitement around products and encourage audience participation
  • Use strong sales techniques to convert viewers into buyers
  • Maintain an entertaining, energetic, and professional presence on camera
  • Quickly learn new products and confidently communicate their features and benefits
  • Keep track of merchandise during fast-moving live shows
  • Work with the Whatnot team to prepare products and organize upcoming shows
  • Pay close attention to product details and show information
  • Help develop repeat customers and grow our live-selling audience
  • Meet and work toward established sales and performance goals
  • Represent CRL Liquidation professionally during every broadcast

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who can sell.
Personality is important, but this position requires more than simply being outgoing. A successful host needs to understand customers, recognize buying signals, communicate value, create urgency, and keep an audience engaged while continuously moving merchandise.
Requirements
  • Exceptional sales ability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident and comfortable speaking on camera
  • Energetic, engaging, and personable
  • Strong knowledge of consumer goods, brands, products, and general merchandise
  • Ability to quickly identify and communicate the value of different products
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Dependable with excellent attendance
  • Self-motivated and comfortable being measured on performance
  • Competitive and goal-oriented mindset
  • Ability to think and react quickly during a live broadcast
  • Comfortable interacting with customers and handling different personalities
  • Ability to remain energetic and engaged for extended periods
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check

Previous experience in sales, live selling, retail sales, social media, content creation, broadcasting, auctions, e-commerce, or customer-facing roles is strongly preferred.
Experience with Whatnot is a plus, but isn’t required for the right candidate.
Performance-Based Position
This role is directly tied to sales performance and results.
We want hosts who are motivated by goals and enjoy the challenge of improving their numbers. Performance may be evaluated using factors such as sales volume, audience engagement, customer retention, show growth, consistency, and overall contribution to the success of our live-selling operation.
The strongest performers will have the opportunity to take on additional shows and grow alongside our Whatnot operation.
Who Will Succeed in This Position?
You may be a great fit if you’re the type of person who:
  • Can comfortably start a conversation with almost anyone
  • Naturally enjoys selling and explaining products
  • Knows popular brands and consumer products
  • Can keep talking and stay engaging without needing a script
  • Understands how to create excitement without being pushy
  • Isn’t intimidated by being live on camera
  • Enjoys competition and working toward measurable goals
  • Takes coaching well and wants to continuously improve
  • Can maintain energy even during a long or challenging show
  • Shows up consistently and can be counted on

About CRL Liquidation
CRL Liquidation is a family-owned liquidation and wholesale business specializing in overstock, returns, manufacturer casepack merchandise, pallets, mystery boxes, and other consumer goods.
Our Whatnot operation allows us to bring that inventory directly to customers across the country through live commerce.
We’re continuing to grow this side of our business and are looking for the right personalities and salespeople to grow with it.
If you’re confident on camera, knowledgeable about consumer products, naturally good with people, and most importantly know how to sell, we’d like to hear from you.
