On Call Skidder Operator Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Job Summary
Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a chainsaw to cut and remove trees, branches, and other vegetation. Responsible for cutting trees and limbs, trimming branches, and clearing debris from work areas.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Cutting trees
• Operating chainsaw & brush saw
• Moving & chipping wood
• Ability to handle Right of way clearing near powerlines.
• Wood, brush and debris piling and site cleanup.
• Possible equipment operation (skidder, excavator, skid steer, chipper etc.)
• Clean and maintain equipment as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass drug, alcohol, and background checks.
• Must have good hand eye coordination.
• Must be able to repair tools and equipment as needed.
• Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able and willing to work for extended periods in various locations.
• Able and willing to work in all types of weather environments including inclement weather.
• Able and willing to work overtime when required.
• Subject to be on call for storm work.
• Must be able to enter and exit vehicles numerous times per day.
• Must be able to wear PPE.
• Understanding of the utility industry and operations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• High level of professionalism and integrity.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Ability to make decisions.
• Ability to process and analyze data.
Working Conditions
• Work is performed outside in all types of weather environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, climb, stoop, stand, and lift for long periods of time.
• Substantial movements of the hands, wrists, and/or fingers.
• Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to walk, climb, and work from various heights.
• Must be able to work in uneven and slippery conditions.
• Required to have close visual acuity to perform job duties.
