Job description

Job Summary:
The Security Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for visitors, employees, and vendors, ensuring a professional and secure front desk environment. This role supports daily security operations by monitoring access, verifying identification, issuing visitor badges, and providing general administrative and customer service assistance while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• No supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
• Greet and welcome visitors, employees, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Verify identification and confirm visitor appointments or authorization for entry.
• Issue, track, and collect temporary visitor badges and access credentials.
• Monitor front desk activity and maintain a secure and orderly reception area.
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls and inquiries to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain visitor logs and daily activity reports accurately.
• Observe and report suspicious or unusual behavior to security supervisors or management.
• Assist with package deliveries, mail distribution, and sign-in/sign-out procedures.
• Provide basic directions and assistance to guests and staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company security policies and procedures.
• Perform light administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and document handling as assigned.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to write and read English

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in an administrative role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
