- Searches for abnormalities in blood flow sounds, heart rhythm, oxygen saturation, and the appearance of the heart.
- Positions patients and explains procedures.
- Performs quality control functions.
- Evaluates ultrasounds for diagnostic quality.
- Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques.
- Develops ultrasound film and matches it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
- Assists with the maintenance and compilation of statistical data.
- Provides training to new and student cardiac ultrasound technologists.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
