Job description

About Cine Visuals

Cine Visuals is a Los Angeles-based cinema lens rental and service company specializing in high-end cinema lenses.

We work with rental houses, cinematographers, production companies, and industry professionals in Los Angeles and around the world. Our inventory includes rare, high-demand, and specialty lens sets, supported by in-house lens technicians who inspect, service, and calibrate gear before it goes out.

About the Role

Cine Visuals is looking for a Rental Agent, Cinema Lens Rentals to join our Los Angeles team.

This is not an entry-level rental desk position. We are looking for someone with real experience in cinema equipment, production rentals, or a closely related field.

The right person understands the pace of production, communicates clearly with clients, and moves quickly to turn rental requests into confirmed bookings.

This role requires daily quoting, client follow-up, availability checks, sub-rental coordination, scheduling, and problem-solving. You need to be comfortable sending emails, building quotes, checking gear availability, calling clients when needed, and working under pressure when productions need answers fast.

The ideal candidate has strong cinema lens knowledge, understands different lens sets, focal lengths, mounts, coverage formats, and rental workflows, and has the drive to make rentals happen.

Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming rental inquiries from clients.
  • Prepare and send rental quotes quickly and accurately.
  • Follow up consistently with clients to move inquiries toward confirmed bookings.
  • Coordinate availability across Cine Visuals’ inventory.
  • Source and coordinate sub-rentals when needed to complete client orders.
  • Communicate with clients by email and phone throughout the rental process.
  • Work closely with the rental team and lens technicians to confirm gear, prep needs, timing, and job details.
  • Understand lens sets, focal lengths, mounts, coverage formats, accessories, and production requirements.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, rental houses, and industry contacts.
  • Stay organized across multiple active quotes, holds, bookings, pickups, returns, and deadlines.
  • Take ownership of rental opportunities and help keep jobs moving from first inquiry to final confirmation.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in cinema equipment rentals, camera rentals, production equipment, professional video equipment, camera department work, or a closely related field.
  • Strong understanding of cinema lenses, including lens sets, focal lengths, mounts, and basic format coverage.
  • Comfortable writing professional emails and communicating with clients throughout the day.
  • Ability to prepare quotes, follow up, and manage multiple active rental requests.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work quickly under production pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Professional, reliable, and accountable.
  • Comfortable working on-site in Los Angeles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience at a camera rental house, lens rental company, production rental company, or professional cinema equipment company.
  • Experience with sub-rentals.
  • Experience working with cinematographers, camera assistants, producers, production managers, or rental coordinators.
  • Knowledge of vintage lenses, anamorphic lenses, Full Frame lenses, Super 35 lenses, PL mount, LPL mount, EF mount, and common cinema lens accessories.
  • Experience with rental software, CRM tools, quoting systems, or inventory systems.
  • Strong client follow-up skills.

Who This Role Is For

This role is for someone who wants to work in high-end cinema lens rentals and be part of a fast-moving rental operation.

You should enjoy finding the right gear, responding quickly, following up, solving problems, and helping make rentals happen.

You do not need to know every lens in the world, but you do need real industry knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to learn quickly.

Who This Role Is Not For

This role is not for someone looking for a slow administrative desk job.

It is not for someone with only a casual interest in film gear.

It is not for someone who avoids client communication, follow-up, time pressure, or detailed equipment coordination.

Compensation

Compensation is based on experience.

Qualified candidates with strong rental, cinema equipment, camera department, or production equipment experience will be considered for a competitive package.
