Job description

Winch Truck Driver
SUMMARY
The Winch Truck Driver drives and operates a Winch Truck equipped with a single winch. Equipment is loaded and unloaded onto the truck or float using the truck's mechanical winch. All duties of the Winch Truck Driver are to be performed according to the Company operating procedures to maximize the safety of all personnel at the work site and to efficiently perform the task.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures
  • Operates company vehicle in a safe manner and compliant to all State and federal DOT standards and regulations
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition
  • Has knowledge of operating single and double container roll off trailers
  • Hauls roll-off tarp boxes to necessary locations
  • Knowledge of load securing devices (straps, ratchet boomers, chains, and binders)
  • Inspects daily winch cable for burrs, flat spots, broken threads, and tail chain rope socket
  • Inspects daily winch frame, welds, and loose bolts on the frame
  • Applies knowledge of moving equipment such as tanks, pits, etc.
  • Reports vehicle accident/incident immediately to management
  • Maintain a truck log according to State and Federal regulations
  • Transport materials to and from specified job sites
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Daily inspection of truck
  • Communicate equipment and material issues
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Previous experience with transporting equipment and materials
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Previous experience in the energy services industry preferred
  • Ability to meet all DOT requirements
  • Must pass a drug screening and background check
  • Must maintain an acceptable driving record and driver qualification
  • Must be flexible to meet scheduling requirements
  • Must be able to travel and cross state lines
  • Must have the ability to effectively operate a variety of vehicles safely and work reliably both independently and in a team setting

COMPUTER
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office preferred

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Must complete and pass all required pre-employment screenings
