Structural Welder

Location: New Iberia, Louisiana

Encore Oilfield Services, LLC is seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our manufacturing team in New Iberia, Louisiana. This position is responsible for producing safe, high-quality welds on a variety of structural steel components used in natural gas compression equipment and related oil & gas applications while maintaining exceptional craftsmanship, productivity, and adherence to company safety standards.

The ideal candidate has experience with structural welding, can read fabrication drawings, and takes pride in producing quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform safe, high-quality welds on structural steel components using approved welding processes.
  • Weld brackets, braces, structural assemblies, couplings, and nozzles on pressure vessels as required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld specifications.
  • Position materials using jigs, holding fixtures, guides, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
  • Perform position welds on code materials as required.
  • Perform tack welding and grinding to prepare materials for final welding.
  • Operate overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and pneumatic hand tools safely.
  • Work with various structural materials and component sizes.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and company standards.
  • Follow all company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Collaborate with the Structural team to improve processes and maintain high productivity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of structural welding or related fabrication experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to tack weld and safely operate grinders.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience working with various structural steel materials.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and fabrication tools.
  • Ability to pass a 3G/4G welding test.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to maintain high productivity standards.
Preferred
  • Experience welding structural components for the oil & gas industry.
  • Experience welding couplings and nozzles on pressure vessels.
  • Experience with MIG (GMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) welding processes.
  • Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel components.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing or natural gas compression equipment fabrication.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently bend, squat, climb, stoop, kneel, and reach.
  • Work at elevated heights and in confined or enclosed spaces as required.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently lift or carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods while performing welding and fabrication tasks.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to safely perform all essential job functions while wearing required PPE.
Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing and fabrication facility with occasional outdoor work. Employees regularly work around welding equipment, overhead cranes, heavy materials, and industrial machinery while following all required safety procedures.
