Job description

Vandalia Rental SOS promotes excavation safety awareness and partners with customers to deliver the safest, most cost-effective trench safety and confined space solutions. We're expanding SOS to meet surging demand for trench safety and confined space solutions. What you'll do:
  • Safe loading, transport support & yard control- Own safe, damage-free loading/unloading for customers and drivers, keep the yard organized, and ensure work areas are inspection-ready at all times.
  • Equipment readiness & turnaround- Assemble, prep, clean, and service trench safety and confined space gear so every item meets spec and is rental-ready-rain or shine.
  • Customer-first problem solving- Greet proactively, resolve issues fast, and act as a complete solutions partner for contractors focused on excavation safety.
  • Cross-functional coordination- Move with urgency and clarity-coordinate via radio and in person with maintenance, dispatch, back/front counter, and drivers to keep schedules tight and equipment flowing.
  • Returns evaluation & quality control- Inspect returns for wear, damage, and cleanliness; document findings and ensure appropriate billing while maintaining company safety rules and procedures.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Trench safety equipment knowledge and/or customer service experience are pluses; bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods or an entire shift.
  • Must be able to lift 75+lbs with assistance.
  • Must be able to be exposed to dirt, grease, oils, loud noise and other elements common with construction and industrial workplaces.
  • Calm, confident communicator who can work across teams and with all customer types.
  • Strong math skills, written/verbal communication, and high accuracy with details.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
