Position Summary:

Builds pallets and completes necessary paperwork to prepare orders for shipment. Utilizes scanning equipment to ensure accuracy of finished orders. Loads and unloads containers, trailers and stretch wrap machines as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Palletizes customer orders to meet customer requirements and department standards.

  • Coordinates pallet building activities with zone pickers to ensure all product is combined safety and efficiently.

  • Utilizes scanning equipment to ensure customer orders ship complete.

  • Prepares and completes all paperwork for customer orders, including packing lists, ship to labels, and any other special required labeling as required.

  • Loads and unloads export containers manually, or utilizing appropriate material handling equipment.

  • Loads finished pallets into stretch wrap machines using electric pallet jacks or lift trucks.

  • Loads finished pallets into trailers for shipment. Completes manual shipping manifest for each trailer loaded and forwards to Freight Assistant for final billing and manifesting.

  • Operates equipment as assigned, which may include tractor-trailers, trailer jacks, lift trucks, order pickers, SA’s, electric or manual pallet jacks, stretch wrap machines, hand-held RF terminals, and radios.

  • Inspects cases of filters to ensure that damaged or otherwise defective cases are not shipped. Immediately reports problems to department supervision.

  • Assists in picking orders, conducting inventory counts, auditing orders, and cleaning the warehouse when requested.

  • May assist with minor repairs to damaged containers, pallets, and other packaging material as required.

  • Responsible for meeting established unit production standards.

  • Keeps work area neat, clean, organized, and under control.

  • Responsible for observing safety rules at all times and reporting unsafe conditions to department supervision.

  • Responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.

Qualifications

  • Required: High school diploma/GED with 6 months' work experience in a warehouse Environment.

  • Preferred: High school diploma/GED plus 1 year of work experience in a distribution Center.

  • SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the individual to handle and transport products and materials weighing up to approximately fifty pounds. Requires the ability to master use of scanning technology and equipment. May require operating powered equipment including any or all of the following: LP forklift, standup forklift, Order Picker, and SA. Position may require employee to possess a CDL license. May require climbing ladders.
