Florida Marine Tanks, a division of Patrick Industries, located in North Carolina, is hiring an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Team. While utilizing hands-on accounting experience and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and company practices, the Staff Accountant will perform accounting activities.

Florida Marine Tanks manufactures various fuel, water, oil and holding tanks supporting the Marine Industry. FMT is fully equipped for sheet metal fabrication from high quality aluminum and stainless steel and is committed to building the safest, highest quality, and most competitively priced products

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain vendor records and resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Data entry for department
  • Generate sales order and work orders
  • Invoice sales orders to customers
  • Close work orders
  • Account/inventory reconciliations, including Inventory in Transit
  • Review vendor statements
  • Match & file purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices (3-way matching)
  • Monitor customer accounts and aging reports; apply customer payments and reconcile customer accounts
  • Research and resolve customer billing discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years' accounting or finance experience or equivalent degree
  • Cost Accounting experience
  • Manufacturing Accounting experience
  • Must be proficient in Excel
  • Candidates must be organized and have high attention to detail
  • Experience with ERP System
  • A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect)
  • Candidates must have strong accountability and follow-through skills
  • Flexibility and foresight to balance engagement and the business needs
  • Candidates must have a dynamic personality with the ability to work and communicate effectively with all team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in terms of being clear, concise, and professional
