Job description

Echo Rig Technician
SUMMARY
The ECHO Rig Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and continuously improving Ranger Energy Services' ECHO rig fleet. This role supports safe, reliable, and efficient well service operations while maximizing equipment uptime and ensuring compliance with company HSE standards and customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and repair ECHO rig electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, PLC, and VFD systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Support rig-up, rig-down, commissioning, and startup.
  • Diagnose failures and minimize nonproductive time (NPT).
  • Interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and OEM manuals.
  • Maintain maintenance records and equipment history.
  • Comply with Ranger HSE policies, OSHA, NFPA, and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate with field personnel on inspections and equipment operation
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
  • 5+ years of industrial electrical or oilfield equipment maintenance.
  • Experience with electric workover or electric drilling rigs preferred.
  • Knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, electric motors, generators, and hydraulic systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel and work rotational schedules.
  • Exhibits safety leadership and integrity in the workplace.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge and proficiency in technical skills.
  • Understands customer needs, communicates clearly and works to create a positive customer experience.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues and identifies opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
COMPUTER
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Must complete and pass all required pre-employment screenings.
