The Rig Equipment Mechanic supports Precision Drilling's High Performance, High Value mission by ensuring critical rig equipment is maintained, inspected, and repaired to the highest safety and reliability standards, reducing operational risk and supporting efficient drilling operations. This is a rotational position operating on a 2-weeks-on/2-weeks-off schedule.

DAY IN THE LIFE:
  • Safely inspect, troubleshoot, and repair rig and oilfield equipment, applying advanced mechanical knowledge to diagnose issues and restore equipment to safe operating condition
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including CAT III & IV inspections, while accurately documenting findings to ensure traceability and compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other departments to support equipment repairs, respond to abnormal operating conditions, and implement audit or inspection recommendations
  • Prioritize safety in every task, following Permit to Work and Isolation systems, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and confidently calling a Time Out for Safety when conditions change or risks are identified
  • Communicate equipment status and risks by completing service and maintenance reports, advising supervisors on equipment condition and spare parts needs, and promptly reporting hazards, incidents, or limitations that could impact safe rig operations

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
  • 5-10 years+ of experience diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling drilling equipment
  • Advanced diagnosing and troubleshooting knowledge of Mud Pump, Drawworks and other various equipment on the rigs
  • Reading equipment schematics with a good understanding of symbols
  • Basic SAP abilities, specifically: notifications and maintenance compliance report
