A Day in the Life:
This position is located in the Bunge North America soybean processing plant in Decatur, IN. The Degumming Operator is responsible for safely and accurately operating the degumming process in the Refined Oil Department. Candidates must actively participate in Bunge's Employee Safety Policy and maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees.
Position Details:
2nd, 3rd or swing shift. 8-hour shifts, 7 on/2 off schedule
Pay rate: $30.42 an hour

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Complete daily walk throughs to check equipment and tank levels
  • Operate production equipment to fill containers, blow filters out, check oil flow
  • Pull samples and check filters
  • Load and unload tankers
  • Monitor and document equipment readings
  • Report any concerns with safe food practices
  • Perform department sanitation duties
  • Communicate process and equipment deficiencies with other operators, maintenance personnel and supervisors
  • Must have a commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system, and comply with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Basic computer and mechanical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willing to work overtime, flexible hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to work 2nd / 3rd shift

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in an industrial environment
