Job Title: Fuel Retail Price Analyst
Location: Martin & Bayley, Inc. Carmi, IL
Reports To: Director of Petroleum
Department: Fuel
Job Purpose:
The Fuel Retail Price Analyst plays a pivotal role in shaping our company's competitive edge. By analyzing fuel market trends, competitor pricing, and supply costs, they develop and implement pricing strategies for our retail fuel stations. This role involves monitoring and adjusting prices to ensure competitiveness, profitability, and compliance with market regulations. The analyst's use of data-driven insights to optimize pricing and support strategic business decisions is crucial to our success.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Market Analysis:
  • Monitor daily fuel market trends, including crude oil prices, supply and demand fluctuations, and competitor pricing.
  • Analyze local and regional fuel price movements and their impact on retail pricing strategies.

Price Management:
  • Recommend and implement price changes for retail fuel stations based on market analysis.
  • Ensure price adjustments are aligned with business objectives, including fuel budgets and fuel margin maximization.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure timely execution of pricing decisions.

Data Analytics:
  • Analyze historical sales and pricing data to identify trends and opportunities for pricing optimization.
  • Use predictive analytics to forecast future fuel demand and pricing trends.
  • Develop and maintain pricing models and tools to support decision-making.

Competitor Benchmarking:
  • Conduct regular competitor pricing surveys and benchmark fuel prices against key competitors in the market.
  • Provide insights on pricing strategies and market positioning to ensure competitive advantage.

Reporting & Insights:
  • Prepare regular reports on pricing performance, market trends, budget analysis, and competitive positioning.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management to support pricing strategies and business development initiatives.

Regulatory Compliance:
