Description

A gate guard secures the entrance of residential, commercial, or industrial properties by controlling access, verifying visitor/staff identification, logging vehicles, and monitoring for suspicious activity. Key duties include issuing passes, enforcing site rules, patrolling areas, and responding to emergencies. This role often requires strong communication, alertness, and sometimes basic maintenance.ย 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Access Control: Verifying identities of visitors, staff, and contractors; checking credentials and issuing visitor badges.

Logging & Monitoring: Maintaining accurate logs of all incoming/outgoing vehicles and individuals. Operating surveillance equipment and monitoring security systems.

Security & Patrols: Conducting patrols of the perimeter to check for unlocked doors, broken gates, or unauthorized entry.

Incident Response: Acting as a deterrent, spotting, and reporting suspicious activities. Coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services during incidents.

Customer Service: Greeting guests, directing visitors, and providing information in a professional manner.

Operational Duties: Managing gate operations, including opening/closing gates for authorized vehicles.ย
