Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists for a highly motivated, well organized, and entrepreneurial seller/doer, to grow our Oil, Gas, & Energy (OG&E) practice in the Great Lakes region. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to staff and clients in the Great Lakes Region, develop sustaining client relationships and lead growth with existing and new clients. You will collaborate on a variety of OG&E projects, including permitting and consulting services for natural gas and liquids pipelines, gas storage facilities, LNG, data centers and energy transition projects/programs. In addition to regularly interacting with clients and participating in business development activities, daily work will also include mentoring staff, driving our quality and health and safety programs, and interfacing with our nation-wide team.
This position offers flexibility, allowing you to be based at any Stantec Midwest office including Minneapolis, Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago or other locations, with the option for a hybrid work schedule.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support growth of our Great Lakes Region OG&E permitting practice, client relationship development, opportunities identification and advancement, and proposal development - Collaborate with National and Regional leaders to prioritize and plan areas of focus and recruiting/hiring
  • Lead geographic and service expansion clients including growth of midstream OG&E services, FERC regulated projects and energy transformation services in hydrogen, CO2 and carbon sequestration.as well as data centers within the broader Great Lakes region.
  • Liaise with national and global counterparts on key accounts that have a national/international footprint.
  • Develop and grow technical delivery teams across the Great Lakes Region to support project work
  • Work collaboratively with the North America OG&E Sector team to grow and strengthen client relationships and develop new opportunities
  • Assess strengths, challenges, and areas of need within Great Lakes region, and develop solution-oriented strategies in collaboration with other regional leaders and Sectors
  • Serve as a key leader and member of key oil and gas client account teams

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Minimum of 15years' experience providing or managing technical services in a professional services setting, preferably in the Great Lakes region.
  • 5 years' experience in a client-facing role (including business development and/or client management).
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in environmental science, biological resources or closely related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead diverse project teams and manage large complex projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with permitting of midstream pipelines, linear infrastructure and/or similar including FERC processes, authorizations and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multi-jurisdictional environmental permitting processes requiring Federal, State and Local approvals. Examples include FERC, United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), US Forest Service (USFS), US Department of Interior (USDI) Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPO), State Public Service Commissions, State natural resource and fish and wildlife agencies etc.
  • Business development expertise in the Oil, Gas, & Energy Sector to drive significant growth and opportunities.
  • An enthusiastic attitude to collaborate with others and be a key part of a team focused on teamwork, service excellence and building sustaining relationships with key clients. At Stantec - "We are better Together".
