Job Title: Field Service & Lab Technician
Location: Bloomfield, NM
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly. "Home every night". Overtime is available and expected.
Remote Status: Onsite; 75% Field / 25% Lab

Job Summary Provide routine service and technical support to customer. Optimize chemical applications and provide field services tailored to meeting customer demands. Perform quality control tests on customer product samples.
Essential Duties - other duties as assigned
Field Service Technician
  • Chemical application optimization, with attention to precision on chemical inventory levels and drip rates
  • Troubleshoot source of inventory/rate discrepancies
  • Field support of production chemical programs
  • Perform maintenance on chemical pumps
  • Collect samples from wellsite
  • Submit order requests
  • Fresh water shocking/ATP testing
  • Conduct water analyses
  • Deliver chemicals (non-DOT) and rinse chemical tanks
  • Keep detailed notes in various computer programs according to company policy

Lab Technician
  • Perform quality control tests
  • Analyze data and report results
  • Test and calibrate lab equipment

Other
  • Serve as backup for other administrative team as needed
  • Recognize and report safety issues
  • Maintain clean and safe workspace
  • Work well independently and as a team
  • Provide excellent customer service

Equipment Issued - Laptop and company vehicle
Qualifications
Education/Experience: High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of relevant work experience. Strong mechanical aptitude. Able to perform minor field mechanical/plumbing tasks. Previous lab experience beneficial.
Certifications/Licenses: CDL preferred but not required.
Driving Requirements: Valid driver's license required. Follow all FMCSA and DOT regulations, where applicable.
Physical Requirements - Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 55 pounds chest high. Tip and move 55-gallon drums, weighing up to 600 pounds with the use of equipment and/or vehicles. Must be able to reach, push, pull, and grasp with arms and hands. Will require daily standing, crouching and/or kneeling, sitting, walking, climbing, driving, and transitioning in/out of vehicles. Must be able to talk, hear, and feel attributes of objects or temperatures by touching with the skin. Required to have the visual acuity to safely and legally operate motor vehicles.
Work Environment - Indoors and outdoors, with exposure to environmental conditions such as extreme winter weather, precipitation, and wind. Includes potential exposure to harmful chemicals, dust, odors, fumes, oil, and gases. Will be subject to road conditions typical within the oil field. Noise level is typically moderate, occasionally loud.
Communication Skills - Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as providing excellent customer service.
Language Skills - Ability to read, interpret, and understand documents such as safety rules, safety data sheets (SDSs), operating instructions, and procedure manuals. English language fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending. Bilingual beneficial.
Cognitive Skills - Ability to maintain focus while monitoring and applying production chemical programs in field environments. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately perform testing, interpret results, and identify potential issues. Maintain close attention to detail while following standard operating procedures and managing multiple priorities.
Computer Skills - Efficiently navigate a web browser, mobile applications, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams, Word, SharePoint, etc.), electronic timesheets, and programs such as OneNote and Business Central for keeping field notes. Must possess a smartphone with internet access.
Work Ethic - Be trustworthy, dependable, respectful, and truthful with a commitment to safety and excellent customer service. Follow policies and procedures and take responsibility for your own actions.
Must pass a pre-employment drug test, motor vehicle record check, education/work experience verification, and background check.
