Mechanic Helper

Summary:
The Mechanic Helper assists with the maintenance, inspection, and repair of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and oilfield hauling equipment. Working under the direction of experienced mechanics, this position supports preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, and shop operations to help keep the fleet operating safely and efficiently.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist mechanics with the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and oilfield equipment
  • Assist with repairs to engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, hydraulic systems, brakes, and related components
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, fluid changes, and general servicing
  • Assist with parts ordering and inventory organization
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
  • Communicate professionally with drivers and field personnel
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
    • High school diploma or GED preferred
    • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
    • Previous experience in trucking, oilfield services, diesel repair, construction, or a related field preferred
    • Ability to use basic hand and power tools
    • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

    • Shop and yard environment with occasional outdoor work
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
