The Technical Service Manager (TSM) provides outstanding technical service to Evonik Oil Additives customers. As a senior specialist, the TSM functions as a resource for any technical and lubricant related questions focused on specific product segments and/or customer accounts. The TSM provides application support, executes sales service projects, and coordinates work with other functions within Evonik Oil Additives as assigned by the Technical Service Department Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, and regional accounts to ensure successful application and performance of lubricant additive products.
  • Conduct application studies, product evaluations, and technical troubleshooting to address customer needs and support commercial growth initiatives.
  • Manage and prioritize technical service projects while ensuring timely communication of results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate withotherTechnical Service Managers, Regional/GlobalSales Managers, and Product Managers to align customer support activities with business objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends, OEM specifications, and market developments to support formulation strategy and product positioning efforts.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, reports, training materials, and customer-facing documentation.
  • Represent Evonik Industriesat customer meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, and professional organizations to strengthen technical relationships and market presence.
  • Maintain a high level of technical expertise in lubricant additives, formulation technology, and application performance through continuous learning and industry engagement.
  • Manage incoming samples, testing materials, and technical data to support customer projects and internal evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) standards during all laboratory, customer, and project activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within the lubricant additives, specialty chemicals, or related industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of lubricant formulations, additive technologies, and application performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience delivering customer presentations and technical reports.
  • Experience working with industry organizations or standards groups such as Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers, SAE International, or ASTM Internationalpreferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to approximately 30%.
