Kalypso Offshore is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in New York, supporting the delivery of subsea cable installation, maintenance, and repair projects for the offshore wind and telecommunications sectors. Working alongside our project managers and offshore teams, you will provide the technical backbone that takes projects from engineering studies and method statements through to safe, successful offshore execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the planning, engineering, and execution of subsea cable installation, repair, and maintenance campaigns.

Produce and review technical deliverables including method statements, procedures, RAMS, and engineering studies.

Carry out installation and repair engineering analysis, including cable route assessment, burial requirements, and equipment selection.

Support the specification and mobilization of cable-handling spreads, ROV, and trenching equipment.

Interface with vessel owners, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers on technical matters.

Assist project managers with scheduling, progress reporting, and technical risk management.

Review supplier and subcontractor documentation against project specifications and standards.

Provide technical support to offshore teams during operations, including offshore visits where required.

Ensure all engineering work is delivered in compliance with the company's QHSE standards and client requirements.

Contribute to as-built documentation, close-out reports, and lessons learned.

Join Kalypso Offshore as a Project Engineer and help deliver the subsea cable projects underpinning the transition to renewable energy and global connectivity.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering — mechanical, electrical, civil, marine, or a related discipline.

Proven experience as a Project Engineer in offshore renewables, subsea cables, marine construction, or oil and gas.

Understanding of subsea cable installation, burial, and repair methodologies.

Familiarity with offshore marine operations, vessel spreads, and deck equipment.

Competence in AutoCAD and MS Office; experience with project scheduling software is advantageous.

Working knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practice.

Willingness to travel and work offshore when required; valid offshore certifications (BOSIET/OPITO, offshore medical) or willingness to obtain them.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.

Clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work across multiple concurrent projects.
