Position: Industrial Millwright
Main Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance: Install, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial machinery in various settings, including buildings, plants, and manufacturing facilities. Ensure all machines operate efficiently through troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
Inspection and Measurement: Inspect used parts to determine dimensional changes using tools such as rules, calipers, and micrometers.
Adjustment of Equipment: Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure the correct and safe operation of equipment and machinery using the customer's onsite maintenance management system (CMMS).
Technical Reading: Read diagrams, schematic drawings, and service manuals to establish work procedures.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and maintain engines, conveyors, electrical systems, and pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
Precision Fitting: Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances.
Fault Identification: Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics.
Parts Management: Identify and request necessary replacement parts to perform repairs.
Collaboration: Work with the facility manager to continually update production processes and system software as applicable.
Meeting Participation: Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime.
Safe Operation: Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists, and hand tools.
Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of parts and tools.
Documentation: Prepare maintenance reports and summaries using daily activity logs and work tickets.
Continuous Learning: Maintain knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems through ongoing training, industry workshops, and technical reading.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and industrial machinery. Strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems is essential.
OSHA Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA standards and requirements.
Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication abilities.
Repair Skills: Proficient in repair techniques.
Driving Record: A good driving record is essential.
