The Opportunity
We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong full-stack expertise and hands-on experience utilizing AI agents in the development of modern SaaS products. You'll lead the technical direction for multiple applications - with primary focus on our core SaaS platform. This is a builder + leader role: you'll write critical code, architect scalable systems, utilize AI agents for feature development, and deliver fast and reliably.
You will define the plan for complex business problems and manage those projects to completion. You should be opinionated about best practices but flexible enough to work with senior leadership to meet business goals. You will also be expected to use AI as a primary tool to speed up development and create intelligent features.
To be considered for the position, all candidates must complete the following two assessments:
  1. https://go.cultureindex.com/p/b2oFGARP6h
  2. https://www.ondemandassessment.com/o/JB-UJ2DMDM3L/landing?u=1143070

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end development of new product modules, features, and customer-facing apps while ensuring high performance, security, and observability.
  • Directly manage and mentor a team of Software Engineers as well as Agents: conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, support career growth, run performance processes, and participate in hiring, if necessary.
  • Architect, build, and scale our primary SaaS platform and supporting applications using Django/Python (backend), React (frontend), Celery and Redis (task queues and caching), PostgreSQL, and PostGIS for geospatial capabilities.
  • Design and implement AI agent integrations (using frameworks like Google ADK, LiteLLM, Gemini) to power intelligent features.
  • Own system design decisions, database schemas (including spatial data modeling with PostGIS), API architecture, and deployment pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, data, and customer success teams to translate requirements into reliable, AI-enhanced software.
  • Drive best practices in testing, CI/CD, monitoring, scalability, and cost optimization in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
  • Stay current with advancements in AI agents and full-stack technologies to continuously improve our platform.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong full-stack development background.
  • Deep proficiency in Python/Django and JavaScript; hands-on experience with React, PostgreSQL, PostGIS, Redis, Celery, and Elasticsearch.
  • Proven experience utilizing AI agentic development, including scalable human review workflows and systems. May be asked to demonstrate Production examples where AI has accelerated or improved your outcomes.
  • Experience implementing AI in applications (e.g., LLM-powered agents, multi-agent systems, tool usage, memory/RAG patterns).
  • Track record of successfully leading and managing software engineering teams (formal management experience with onshore/nearshore/offshore).
  • Solid understanding of SaaS architecture: authentication (e.g., Auth0, JWT), multi-tenancy, scalability, REST API design, and cloud deployment.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions), observability platforms (Elasticsearch/Kibana, Sentry), and infrastructure automation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; must be based in (or willing to relocate to) the Fort Worth area.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience shipping AI-enhanced SaaS products at scale (handling thousands of users, agent-driven automation).
  • Familiarity with geospatial applications using PostGIS.
  • Experience migrating legacy frontend frameworks (e.g., AngularJS) to modern React architectures.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse integrations (Snowflake) and document processing pipelines.
  • Prior work in startup/scale-up environments with rapid iteration.
  • Open-source contributions or personal projects showcasing AI agents in web apps.
