Job description

BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:
We are seeking a highly skilled Integrity Engineer. This position offers the opportunity to engage in a wide range of integrity-related activities, including managing inline inspection (ILI) tool runs and anomaly mitigation, conducting bell hole inspections, reviewing NDE data for repair recommendations, performing pressure testing design and result review, and preparing detailed engineering reports and analyses to support compliance and integrity management initiatives.
This role requires a solid understanding of risk assessment, risk based inspection RBI plan development and execution, and data integration, to support threat analysis and facility and pipeline safety evaluations across various facilities. The successful candidate will the facility's mechanical integrity, cathodic protection, corrosion monitoring and coatings programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and supervise the inspection of Sable facilities and development of repair plans based on results.
  • Develop monitoring plans to ensure that fixed equipment remains functional and safe
  • Carry out regular inspections to detect any signs of degradation or leaks
  • Analyze monitoring and test data to assess the condition and operation of equipment and develop surveillance/inspection plans to address concerns raised in the analysis.
  • Develop repair and rehabilitation procedures in the event of failure or malfunction
  • Coordinate with other industry professionals, such as maintenance technicians and Operations, to ensure safety and mechanical integrity
  • Assist in preparing project proposals
  • Function as the Lead Engineer on integrity projects

  • Coordinate inline inspection (ILI) tool runs, including vendor management, tool selection, run support, and post-run data analysis and validation per API 1163
  • Oversee indirect survey methods (e.g., CIS, DCVG, ACVG) to identify potential external corrosion issues and establish remediation plans
  • Analyze complex data sets from ILI, CIS, and coating assessments to provide clear and concise recommendations
  • Update and implement comprehensive Integrity Management Programs (IMPs) for natural gas and hazardous liquid pipelines in compliance with 49 CFR 192 and 195 regulations
  • Conduct risk and threat assessments using qualitative and quantitative methodologies in alignment with ASME B31.8S, API RP 580/581 and company-specific guidelines
  • Plan and execute pressure testing programs, including hydrostatic testing, to confirm pipeline integrity and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including field technicians, project managers, and regulatory personnel, to ensure consistent project delivery
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and client communications across multiple geographies.
  • Must work onsite daily in Goleta, CA and travel to Santa Maria, CA and other Company locations as required

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required with 3+ years of experience
  • NACE CP1/CP2 or NACE CIP certifications or equivalent experience desired
  • Integrity engineers must have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of engineering, including design, construction, completion and maintenance
  • Experience with inline inspection (ILI) tools and data interpretation.
  • Must be able to analyze data and use modeling tools to assess the condition of equipment and determine the actions needed to ensure mechanical integrity. Familiarity with risk modeling and data integration,
  • Knowledge of cathodic protection design, implementation and monitoring
  • Must be knowledgeable of oil and gas industry regulations and standards to ensure well compliance and safety.

PAY INFORMATION:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires manual dexterity to handle documents and operate office equipment such as printers, shredders, and computers. Also required is performing repetitive motions and extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking for varying lengths of time. The position requires interacting and communicating professionally with others via speaking, hearing, and writing; learning new tasks, processes, and concepts; thinking to solve problems; concentrating on required tasks; distinguishing color and depth perception; and reading data, figures, electronic and hard copy documents.
Visual and manual dexterity is extremely important for this position. The incumbent will be subject to performing sedentary to light work, exerting up to 10-20 pounds of force occasionally, or constantly lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, reaching overhead for items, stooping, bending, and twisting while working. Other physical activities include the ability to utilize fingers to feel and grasp objects or work devices as needed and manual dexterity in the use of the hands, seeing, talking, hearing, performing repetitive motions, and standing for long periods of time.
The position requires walking or traversing over and across uneven terrain, accessing areas outdoors and on or around equipment, over or around obstacles or structures such as pipes, low rails, and walls, stooping or bending to reach certain locations, climbing stairs or ladders, and exposure to outside weather conditions.
The position requires facility inspections, which require wearing a respirator and personal protection equipment such as gloves, gas masks, suits, etc., with an average weight of 10-25 pounds.
