Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Sr. Field Service Representative in Houma, Louisiana.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Field Service Representative is responsible for providing field service, equipment repair and installation of customer owned equipment, while developing and maintaining beneficial customer relations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Travel to rig location, diagnosis problem, utilizing written procedures and assemble manuals, and advise customer of work involved. Perform the necessary repairs or service to include the rebuild of damaged or worn components, installation of new or replacement parts and/or routine maintenance.
  • Complete written service reports.
  • Install, start up, and perform function tests on new equipment.
  • Perform in-house assembly and refurbish work on equipment when not in the field.
  • Coordinate large on-site jobs and supervise junior level service personnel.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Instruct customers on operation of new and refurbished equipment.
  • Assist and train junior level mechanics.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Comply with Federal, State, OSI and Customer safety/environmental policies and procedures

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of a high school education and additional vo-tech training in mechanics, electrical, structural, precision tooling and related skills.
  • Five years prior experience and a good working knowledge of the company's products.
  • Ability to operate necessary hand tools, gages, and equipment
  • Frequent and extended offshore travel is required
  • Intermediate mathematical and measurement computations required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

COMPENTENCY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Meet the requirements of our Short Service Employee Program for new employees.
  • Meet the required training of OSI Safety/Environmental Programs
  • Attend all OSI offshore required training
  • Attend Crane/Winch 101 training or have prior experience in repairing/installing of equipment manufactured by OSI Houma or a competitor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Pushing/pulling, lifting, bending, standing, throwing, kneeling, balancing, carrying, sitting, walking, crawling, climbing, crouching, reaching, and working within a confined space.
  • Lifting requirement of 45 pounds.
