Offshore Quality Engineer

We are also "revolutionizing the way to space" by supporting the return of humans to the Moon and NASA's deep space exploration programs.
Our team in Space and Defense is looking for an Offshore Quality Assurance Engineer to join them. You will report to the Offshore Value Stream Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, VA.
To be considered for the Offshore Quality Assurance Engineer, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field OR Bachelor's degree with relative work experience in a manufacturing environment OR an associate degree with 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing role.
  • Must be willing to travel approximately up to 50% of the time internationally.
  • Experience in communicating with internal and external customers, coworkers, and other business disciplines.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-starter as an individual and function efficiently in a team-based manufacturing environment.

Preferred requirements
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with lean principles and Six Sigma
  • Experience with an electro-mechanical or magnetic background
  • Conversationally bilingual in English and Spanish to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients is preferred.

As an Offshore Quality Assurance Engineer, you will:
  • Work with and maintain confidential information.
  • Utilize word processing, database, and enterprise information systems software. Proficiency in Microsoft Suites is beneficial.
  • Work on motion control and electronic components
  • Perform document review pertaining to contract, industry, and other regulatory flow downs.
  • Use analytical tools such as SPC, Gage R&R, 5 Why or Fault Trees.
  • Be responsible for quote reviews for compliance and quality related cost assignment.
  • You will use statistical/ 6 Sigma tools to maintain both internal and external quality.
  • Provide responses to both internal/ external quality issues with emphasis on prevention and cascading lessons learned to other programs and products.
  • You can expect to develop quality documentation and test procedures.
  • Work with all facets of the organization to maintain compliance to customer/ internal part and specification requirements.
  • Develop and maintain positive vendor relations.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues by evaluating available data and implementing effective solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range Transparency:
