SUMMARY: The sales associate responsibilities will include providing excellent customer service to those inquiring about or purchasing professional apparel, shoes and accessories. The sales associate will assume responsibility for cash register operation and balancing, daily ordering, stocking and inventory control, taking special orders and doing follow up calls to customers and physician's offices as necessary. The sales associate will occasionally be required to lift boxes weighing as much as 50lbs. Scheduled hours are flexible Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m-6:00 p.m. Hours earlier or later will be scheduled occasionally for sales held outside the store. No weekend or major holiday hours. Sales Associates will work between 8-29 hours if part-time, 32-40 hours if full-time. PRN associates will only work as needed. 


Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The sales associate provides support to the retail store, assists with sales events and provides customer service to those inquiring or purchasing apparel, shoes or accessories. This position also handles a variety of tasks in support of day-to-day operations, such as inventory, office maintenance and regulatory compliance.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent at minimum.
  • Six months' experience in customer service and/or retails sales experience.

PREFERRED ED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree in related field
  • One year experience in healthcare/medical/insurance/DME customer service role.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Greets customers with a warm and friendly welcome. 
  2. Uses the point-of-sale system to tender sales, enter new customers and inventory and run reports.
  3. Assists customers with fitting shoes and scrubs and offering recommendations.
  4. Assists with keeping the store neat and organized.
  5. Assists with boxing, loading and unloading products for sales events outside of the store.
  6. Assists with checking-in inventory and individually bagging purchases when they arrive.
  7. Assists with delivering and distributing products and explaining any backorder issues.
  8. All other duties as assigned by Manager or Regional Director.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This position may be part-time or full time. Hours of work and days are assigned by the store manager to meet the needs of the store and its customers. The store is open Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Work hours may extend beyond store hours.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory role.

This job operates primarily in a retail setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is typically required to sit; frequently stands, occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include both close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

TRAVEL:

Some travel may be required in the Richmond, IN area and neighboring states when special sales events are scheduled.
