Job description

Project Manager - Commercial Furniture & Interiors
Toronto, ON
Salary: $70,000-$90,000 + Benefits | Hybrid

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established commercial interiors organization with a strong national presence and a long-standing reputation in the contract furniture industry. As they continue to grow their Toronto operation, they are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their team.
This role is heavily focused on commercial furniture projects, installation, and site coordination, managing projects from initial planning and order entry through delivery, installation, deficiency resolution, and final close-out.
Direct furniture experience is an asset, but not a requirement. We are also interested in Project Managers coming from commercial construction, architectural products, glazing, millwork, commercial kitchens, retail installations, office relocations, dealerships, or other installation-driven environments.
This is a great opportunity for a strong Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of complex projects, working directly with clients, and coordinating multiple vendors, trades, and stakeholders.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope, while providing a high level of service throughout the process.
Working closely with Account Executives, internal teams, manufacturers, installers, contractors, consultants, and clients, you will manage the full project lifecycle from planning through completion.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Managing commercial furniture and interiors projects from award through installation and close-out
  • Developing project schedules, work plans, installation requirements, and logistics
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for clients throughout active projects
  • Coordinating manufacturers, installers, contractors, A&D firms, building management, electricians, IT, cabling vendors, and other trades
  • Attending client, construction, and site meetings
  • Maintaining detailed project documentation, schedules, revisions, and scope changes
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Supporting RFPs, quotations, proposals, and project pricing as required
  • Coordinating order entry, manufacturing timelines, shipping, delivery, and installation
  • Monitoring ship dates and proactively addressing scheduling or logistical issues
  • Developing installation schedules and scopes of work
  • Overseeing on-site installation and ensuring project requirements and daily goals are met
  • Conducting site walks and managing punch lists and deficiency resolution
  • Coordinating project completion, invoicing, and final close-out requirements
What You Bring
  • Previous Project Management experience within a project-based, installation-driven environment
  • Experience within commercial furniture, commercial interiors, construction, architectural products, glazing, millwork, retail installations, commercial kitchens, or a related industry
  • Strong experience coordinating schedules, installations, vendors, trades, and client requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
  • Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills
  • Comfort working with drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and technical project documentation
  • Knowledge of interior construction, office moves and relocations, furniture manufacturing, shipping, or logistics is an asset
  • Experience with cross-border logistics and U.S. customers is considered an asset
  • PMP or other Project Management certification is an asset but is not required
Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join an established organization that continues to invest in and grow its commercial interiors business across Canada.

The position offers a hybrid working model, with time divided between the Toronto office, home, and client/project sites. You will have the opportunity to manage a diverse range of projects while working alongside experienced sales, design, operations, and installation teams.

The company offers competitive health benefits, wellness and healthcare spending accounts, a generous holiday package including the week between Christmas and New Year's, and opportunities for continued career growth.
