Position Summary
The Office of Community Engagement is seeking amotivated and professional student to assist with front office operations forthe 2026-2027 academic year with a chance of renewal.
You'll gain hands-on experience with administrative tasks, front-deskoperations, operations and office organization, while contributing to anexciting and student focused department.
Dutiesinclude, but are not limited to: managing the main office, assisting with dailytasks students, faculty, and staff, filing and organizing documents/files,managing databases, to a variety of activities, and general support offaculty/staff/students within the office and miscellaneous duties asassigned[TC1] .
Duties include, but are not limited to: Providingadministrative and operational support for the Office of Community Engagement;welcoming and assisting students, faculty, staff, community partners, andvisitors; managing the front office and responding to phone, email, andin-person inquiries; maintaining and organizing digital and physical files,records, and databases; assisting with the coordination of community engagementprograms, events, meetings, and outreach activities; preparing materials andresources for community initiatives; supporting data collection and reportingfor engagement projects; and providing general administrative support to officepersonnel. Additional responsibilities may include special projects and otherduties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Basic computer skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Printer/copier experience
  • Office work experience
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours fall/spring semesters
  • Must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress guidelines
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting students, staff, faculty, and office environments in any capacity (tech support, event sign-ins, flyers, emails, etc.)
  • Comfortable answering phones, greeting guests, or managing front-desk and office spaces.
  • Familiarity with basic computer tasks such as typing, document formatting, using Adobe, Canva, and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding or willingness to learn different processes and troubleshooting.
  • Strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, ability to stay organized, and follow through with assigned tasks
  • Strive for a positive, professional mindset.
  • Be able to work at least four days a week. More days/hours are encouraged within the work-study guidelines.

Work-Studyqualified individuals who can work in two to four-hour blocks of time.
