Position Summary

Tucker Ellis is seeking an experienced, organized, and proactive Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of the firm’s St. Louis office. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the office operates efficiently while supporting attorneys, professional staff, clients, and firm leadership in a professional and service-oriented environment.

The Office Manager will be responsible for managing overall office operations for an office of approximately 30 employees, while also overseeing the coordination and supervision of professional staff schedules, including Case Assistants and Legal Secretaries. This individual will serve as a key operational resource within the office and will work closely with firm leadership and administrative departments across the firm.

This position is fully onsite and requires a consistent in-office presence to support daily operations, staff management, and office needs. This role will report directly to the Director of Human Resources.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, responsive, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and administrative functions of the St. Louis office
  • Maintain a consistent onsite presence to support attorneys, professional staff, visitors, and office operations
  • Manage office procedures and ensure efficient office workflow and organization
  • Coordinate and oversee schedules and coverage for professional staff, including Legal Secretaries and Case Assistants
  • Partner with attorneys and firm leadership to address staffing, workflow, and operational needs
  • Assist with onboarding and training coordination for new employees within the office
  • Support employee engagement and help foster a collaborative and professional office environment
  • Coordinate office meetings, events, vendor relationships, supplies, and facility-related matters
  • Serve as a liaison between the St. Louis office and firmwide administrative departments, including Human Resources, Recruiting, IT, and Operations
  • Monitor and assist with office budgets, invoices, and administrative expenses as needed
  • Ensure office compliance with firm policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Handle sensitive employee and firm information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Assist with special projects and process improvements as the office and firm continue to grow

Qualifications

  • Prior office management, operations, legal administration, or professional services management experience required
  • Experience supervising or coordinating administrative or professional staff schedules preferred
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Professional presence with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, staff, clients, and firm leadership
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive matters with urgency and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative and service-focused mindset
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn firm systems and software

  • Prior law firm or professional services office management experience required
