Job description

Northland Controls is seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer to support and enhance regional deployments of advanced access control technologies. This remote role focuses on technical execution, product evolution, and close collaboration with engineering, security, and customer stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable system performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and execution of the roadmap for server rack access control systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, physical security, and business stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in deployment programs, providing feedback to improve overall solutions.
  • Engage with customer architects, operations teams, and internal partners.
  • Program, manage, and support back-end access control applications and licensing.
  • Provide remote commissioning, monitoring, and technical support.
  • Perform remote break-fix activities and escalate issues to service desk or LSP support as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train VAR and LSP engineering teams on commissioning and break-fix processes, including on-site training when required.
  • Ensure all processes and procedures are fully documented.
  • Provide reporting and statistical data to senior leadership upon request.
  • Develop strategies for system monitoring, observability, and rapid incident response.

Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Lenel OnGuard access control systems (certification preferred).
  • Familiarity with biometric technologies and enterprise access control solutions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
