What is an off road?

An Off Road job typically involves working in rugged, remote, or off-highway environments, such as construction sites, mining operations, forestry, or adventure tourism. These roles often require operating specialized vehicles and equipment designed for rough terrain. Responsibilities may include vehicle maintenance, navigation, and ensuring safety in challenging conditions. Workers in Off Road jobs need physical endurance, mechanical knowledge, and problem-solving skills.

What are the typical daily responsibilities for an off road technician?

Off Road Technicians generally spend their days diagnosing, repairing, and modifying off-road vehicles such as ATVs, UTVs, trucks, or specialized equipment. Their tasks often include troubleshooting engine or suspension issues, installing custom components, performing routine maintenance, and testing vehicles in real or simulated off-road environments. They also collaborate with customers to understand specific needs and with team members to complete complex projects. The role combines hands-on technical work with problem-solving and customer service, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the off road position, and why are they important?

To thrive in an Off Road Technician role, you need hands-on mechanical expertise, knowledge of off-road vehicle systems, and experience with diagnostic and repair tools, often supported by an automotive technology certificate or similar qualification.
