Position Overview:
You will support the Polaris Powersports Factory Race Team by leading vehicle development, validation, testing, and race support activities for domestic and international racing programs. In this role, you will serve as a technical resource between engineering teams, race teams, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive product improvements and competitive performance. You will combine hands-on vehicle development, testing, fabrication, calibration support, and race operations while helping translate real-world racing insights into future product enhancements. This is a compelling opportunity to directly influence vehicle performance, support championship-level race programs, and contribute to the development of future Polaris Powersports products.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead vehicle development, validation, and race support activities for Polaris Powersports racing programs.
Support development and optimization of race-specific calibrations, including suspension, CVT, engine, and gauge systems.
Lead fabrication, assembly, and preparation of development vehicles and prototype components.
Organize and lead vehicle development and testing activities in field environments.
Serve as the technical liaison between race teams, engineering teams, suppliers, and external partners.
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain vehicle instrumentation, telemetry systems, strain gauges, pressure sensors, thermocouples, and data acquisition equipment.
Support ECU calibration management, software flashing, vehicle diagnostics, configuration control, and serial number tracking activities.
Develop and implement new testing methods, instrumentation solutions, and data collection techniques to improve validation efficiency and product understanding.
Develop test plans, validation procedures, and data acquisition strategies to support product development, performance evaluation, and issue resolution.
Utilize data acquisition systems to collect, analyze, and communicate vehicle performance data.
Perform testing and development activities to identify root causes and resolve vehicle performance or durability issues.
Generate technical reports and present findings to engineering teams, leadership, and integrated product teams.
Provide technical support during test sessions, race events, and pre-race activities.
Train and mentor race teams, technicians, and development personnel on vehicle setup, diagnostic tools, data acquisition systems, and product updates.
Share lessons learned and support continuous improvement efforts across engineering and racing organizations.
Maintain a safe work environment and comply with applicable safety and operating procedures.

Qualifications:
High school diploma required.
Minimum of 3 years of mechanic, technician, race support, vehicle development, or related experience.
Two-year or four-year degree in a technical field is preferred.
Valid driver's license required.
Ability to operate Polaris Powersports vehicles at a high level in demanding off-road conditions.
Ability to drive trucks with trailers up to 26,000 GCVR.
Ability to safely operate forklifts.
Experience with motorsports, racing, or powersports vehicle development is preferred.
Experience with vehicle diagnostic tools is preferred.
Advanced experience with motorsports data acquisition and analysis software, including MoTeC, DEWESoft, GlyphWorks, or similar platforms, is preferred.
Experience with electrical diagnostics, CAN communication systems, ECU calibration tools, vehicle instrumentation, and telemetry systems is preferred.
Experience developing test plans, validation activities, and race support strategies is preferred.
Ability to interpret technical data and effectively communicate findings to engineers, race teams, technicians, and leadership.
Fabrication and welding experience is preferred.
Frequent domestic and international travel is required to support product development, testing activities, pre-race events, and race events.
Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, based on testing schedules, race events, and program requirements.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
The starting pay range for Minnesota is $31.25 to $41.35 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime.Individual pay and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
