Position: Power Architect – Data Center Infrastructure

Location: Plano, TX

Duration: DIRECT HIRE – FULL TIME

Summary:

We are seeking a Power Architect for Data Center Infrastructure to lead the development of next-generation Grid-to-Chip power delivery architectures supporting hyperscale and enterprise data center platforms. This role will drive system-level power strategy, enabling efficient, scalable, and reliable power solutions across facility, rack, and board levels.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience designing power infrastructure for data centers, including power conversion, distribution, and system-level architecture. This individual will influence platform direction across internal engineering teams, hyperscale customers, and ecosystem partners.

Skills/Experience Needed:

  • 10 - 15+ years of experience in power architecture or power systems design
  • Extensive experience designing power infrastructure for data center platforms
  • Demonstrated expertise in Grid-to-Chip power architecture and high-power rack systems
  • Strong background in power electronics and system-level power delivery design
  • Proven ability to influence system architecture decisions across cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with hyperscale data center operators, server OEMs, or infrastructure vendors
  • Deep knowledge of data center power architecture and infrastructure
  • Experience designing Grid-to-Chip power delivery systems
  • Expertise in AC-DC and DC-DC conversion architecture
  • Experience with UPS systems, power distribution units (PDUs), rack power shelves, and busbar architecture
  • Strong understanding of high-power rack architectures for hyperscale and AI workloads
  • Familiarity with server and accelerator platform power delivery requirements
  • Understanding of high-speed compute platforms, CPGPUs, and system architecture implications on power delivery
  • Knowledge of modern data center technologies, including: PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, InfiniBand, NVMe / NVMe-oF
  • Ability to evaluate system-level power efficiency and reliability tradeoffs

Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive end-to-end data center power architecture spanning utility/grid interface, UPS systems, power distribution, rack-level power shelves, and board-level voltage regulation.
  • Lead the development of next-generation Grid-to-Chip power delivery strategies for hyperscale and AI/HPC data center platforms.
  • Architect high-efficiency power conversion and distribution systems supporting modern compute platforms with rapidly increasing power density requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with system engineering, product management, silicon partners, and hyperscale customers to define future power infrastructure needs.
  • Translate AI, cloud, and high-performance computing workload trends into power infrastructure requirements at the facility, row, and rack levels.
  • Drive reference power architectures and system design guidelines for next-generation data center platforms.
  • Evaluate and optimize AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion topologies, including centralized, distributed, and intermediate bus architectures.
  • Lead trade-off analysis across efficiency, scalability, reliability, and cost to determine optimal system power architecture.
  • Develop architectural strategies supporting emerging high-power racks (100kW+), AI clusters, and advanced accelerator platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop proof-of-concept systems and reference designs validating new power delivery approaches.
  • Provide technical leadership across engineering teams and influence product roadmaps aligned with evolving hyperscale infrastructure requirements.
  • Stay current on industry trends in data center power systems, high-efficiency conversion technologies, power distribution architectures, and power delivery innovations.
