Critical Care Nurse Practitioner Locum Opportunity – Virginia
Position Overview
An inpatient critical care team is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner with ICU/Critical Care experience to provide ongoing coverage. The provider will work autonomously in a high-acuity environment managing critically ill adult patients and performing bedside procedures.
Compensation:
Orientation: $140/hr
Hourly: $140/hr
Holiday: $210/hr

Management of critically ill adult patients
Ventilator management in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy
Admission and evaluation of new critical care patients from:
Emergency Department
Hospital floors
Referring hospitals
Monitoring and management of decompensating patients
Family communication and goals-of-care discussions
Overnight critical care coverage and patient stabilization
Required Procedures
Providers must be comfortable performing:
Central Venous Line (CVL) Placement
Dialysis Catheter Placement
Arterial Line Placement
Critical Care Procedures and Management
Patient Volume
Average daily census: 13 patients
Typical range: 1–20 patients
Requirements
Required
Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
Active Virginia License
Active DEA Registration
BLS Certification
ACLS Certification
Critical Care/ICU experience
Availability for requested coverage dates
Ability to provide ongoing monthly coverage
Clean background history for temporary privileges
Credentialing
Expedited credentialing available
Estimated timeframe: 2–4 weeks
