Job description

Brief Summary:

Fabricators are responsible for assembling structural products using a welding process, machines, and their own hands to produce various types of products.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the installation of parts, pieces, and elements of the designated project.
• Responsible for the treatment and repair of metal surfaces to ensure safe usage.
• Use welding to secure fastening for pieces including in the final product.
• Fabricate frameworks or shells for machinery
• Maintain the shop and equipment used in the assembly process.
• Study and interpret assembly instructions.
• Fabricate and assemble structural metal products.
• Assemble tools and materials.
• Hammer, grind, and chip workpieces.
• Alter dimensions to fit specifications.
• Resolve assembly and production issues.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.

• Operate fabricating machines such as rolls, shears, and flame cutters.
• Check stock to ensure inventory is replenished.
• Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in
this job description.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, OR Equivalency Certificate, (GED (General Education Degree), etc.)
• One to three years related experience and/or training or Associates degree.
• Must be able to read and understand the Procedures and Work Instructions for the position held.
• Reasonable knowledge in hand-held measuring devices, micrometers, measuring tapes, etc.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, hands to
feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
• The employee frequently is required to climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is
occasionally required to sit.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
